Tara graduated from George Mason University School of Law in December 1994. She was a quarterfinalist in the Moot Court Competition. Tara gained extensive civil and criminal litigation knowledge working during law school. She clerked for a personal injury/asbestos litigation firm and then for U.S.Pretrial Services administering a diversion program for low-level criminal offenders. In June 1994, Tara began a post-degree judicial clerkship for U.S. Magistrate Judge Barry R. Poretz in the Alexandria Division of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Tara attended Yale University from 1985 through 1989 graduating with a degree in political science. In addition to being a three-year varsity field hockey player, Tara worked for Yale in various capacities to finance her education. She also was a paid summer intern for the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C. To complement her degree,Tara studied in Madrid, Spain for a semester during her junior year with the Vanderbilt-in-Spain program.

Tara's eighteen years of litigation experience in state and federal courts give her the knowledge and confidence to handle the most complex and contentious cases. This experience dovetails perfectly with her primary practice areas of family law and divorce which tend to be both complex and contentious.
Tara promotes mediation to clients as an excellent dispute resolution tool but one that requires good faith on both sides.

Family & Personal Interest
Ian was born and raised in Seacoast New Hampshire. He currently lives in Rye with his wife Katie, his 6 month old son Robbie, and their 3 dogs, Daisy, Jerry, and Jack.
When not working or taking care of Robbie (which isn't often now a days), Ian enjoys skiing, hiking and playing golf.
